Light Flow is highly customizable allowing notifications for many different apps and system events. When you press the "+" in notification settings you'll see a dialog with 5 options for adding notifications as such:

From an outstanding notification |
Adding notifications based on currently outstanding notifications is the most customizable way to add notifications. Just select the outstanding notifications you'd like to create Light Flow notifications from and select add.
This is great for apps where you want notifications from apps or system events but only based on certain information - for example only from a specific person or with a certain icon or with specific text in the message.
For more details on the customization available, see
here.
For an installed application
|
From installed applications |
This will list all the apps installed on your phone and allow you to add notifications for them. Note that if an app raises several different types of notifications you may be better creating notifications from "Outstanding notifications" described above as it may allow you to stop false notifications you are not interested in. For example some email clients will show a notification when syncing to their servers. You probably don't want this notification, but do want ones when you get a new email message.
Adding a notification here will pick up on any notifications raised by an app.
You can also select to switch on and off system apps from the list which can make it easier to find apps you've installed yourself.
From system event, battery, gps etc
|
System notifications |
These notifications are for phone events that don't necessarily relate to an apps notification. Examples of these are
- Battery charging / charged and low battery notifications
- Wifi / bluetooth / GPS
- Missed calls
- Phone signal / roaming
These can easily be added here. Note that certain notification types on android 6 and above will require permissions to monitor them. These will show a blue information line below the notification type and tapping on that will allow you to grant access to add them.
Contact specific notifications
|
Contact specific notifications |
Prior to version 3.70.0 of Light Flow the only way to create a contact specific notification was via the contact list, this allows for some pre-defined contact specific notifications to work for missed calls, sms, facebook, whatsapp etc, but generally it's better to create these notifications now from outstanding notifications.
From pre-defined application list

From a pre-defined list of notifications |
Prior to version 3.70.0 of Light Flow you could only add notifications for apps specifically added into the app, this option will allow you to access those specific notifications.
You can still set up notifications in this way, but it usually won't be necessary.
